I recently upgraded from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5. After the plugin update, the Visual Composer / WP Bakery elements on my 410.php page began to show as shortcode, when they should be rendering the shortcode to show the visual elements. Our site developer reviewed and noted the latest update 1.1.5 is incompatible with WP Bakery (ver 7.5) and we had to revert back to previous version.

I’m not sure what details I can provide to be helpful. Please advise. I’m wondering if this is true, and if there is anything that can be done for compatibility in future releases?

    Hi @a11c,

I don’t use Visual Composer/WP Bakery myself, and I have very little experience with it. Do you have a test site somewhere, where I can take a look at this issue? Since the WP Bakery builder is not free, unfortunately, I can’t debug it. If you can provide me with a test environment (or a full export of a site), I can take a look.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused.
    Best regards,

    Alex

Hello @alpipego I do not have a test site available to debug WP Bakery. I could however temporarily lend a license that could be activated on a test site. e.g. Temporarily activate my license on your test site. Or otherwise, I could maybe provide you a donation that would cover the cost of a license. Let me know if you have any other suggestions or preference.

No worries about inconvenience. Its WP, it happens. I really appreciate the plugin and the value it brings my site. At the moment, everything works in 1.1.4 and the vulnerability is not a high risk vector for me. Just hoping to update in future versions.

    Hi @a11c,

Thank you for your kind reply. No need to donate a license for this issue. But let’s hash out the details via email, you can contact me alpipego@protonmail.com.

    Hi @a11c,
The issue should be gone with 1.1.6. Somehow a—seemingly unconnected–hook-priority and WP Bakery interfered here. For now at least, I reverted the change I made to the template_redirect hook in 1.1.5 and the WP Bakery contents on your 410 page should render correctly.

Thank you for your patience and assistance in resolving this issue.

    Thank you. Best regards,
    Alex

@alpipego Thanks for this. We updated the plugin to 1.1.6 in our staging site, unfortunately the issue, where the WP Bakery shortcode appears instead of rendering, is still occurring. Can you please advise on potential next steps?

    Hi @a11c,
I’m truly sorry about that. It looks like, I messed up my deployment somewhere. Please try again with version 1.1.7.
