Just a quick note: in WooCommerce the email field is required by default, and that core setting can override our plugin’s checkout field settings. While it’s technically possible to make it optional (e.g., with a snippet), we don’t recommend it — customers wouldn’t receive transactional emails, and some payment gateways may stop working since they require an email address.
