    Hi Tobias!

    I’m testing your wonderful plugin!

Unfortunately, I found the same problem as in this post.

When importing an .xlsx file, Tablepress changes the original date format “25.02.2025” to “2/25/2025”. Also, Tablepress changes the monetary format “437 920,00” to “437,920.00”.

Your recommendation: “try saving the Excel table in CSV format and then importing the .csv file into TablePress” unfortunately does not help.

Is there another solution to the problem?

    Best regards, Denis.

    Hi Denis,

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

It would be very strange if the CSV method does not work. Please test that again, and maybe also check the CSV file content in a normal text editor. You can also upload your XLSX and CSV file somewhere, so that I can take a look at them.

    Regards,
    Tobias

When loading the CSV, the dates look correct (the currency format is not quite correct). The rest of the information in the table goes into machine code (see picture, CSV, XLSX)

    Hi,

It seems like this is not a CSV file in UTF-8 character encoding. Can you please check if your version of Excel offers that as an export format?

In my version of Excel, the export of your Excel file to the CSV format is working. You could alternatively maybe also try with e.g. Google Sheets and convert the Excel file to CSV (in UTF-8) there.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi, Tobias!

Unfortunately, your recommendations did not help.

The problem was solved as follows. In the .xlsx file, the problematic cells with dates and finances were assigned the cell format “Text” (in Excel, right-click on the cell, then “cell format”, then “text”)

After that, import the .xlsx into the correct table.

Thank you for your personal time! Denis.

    Hi Denis,

ok, thanks for testing that. This is still strange… My Excel correctly exports all data to the CSV file, from which the import then works. I’m not sure why this is not working for you, but great to hear that you now have a solution! 🙂

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
