Same problem for me as well. Here’s how it happened:
1. I setup WP social login for WordPress.com (which was a breeze btw)
2. Signed in using credentials from wordpress.com, went smoothly, logged in. Saw in the backend that user has been created.
3. Logged out
4. Tried to log back in using the same credentials, could not login. (This is also a problem btw)
5. Tried to sign in again via social login / wordpress.com, as soon as I click on the Wp.com logo, got error on pop-up as follows “WordPress Social Login is not properly configured. ξ Hybriauth config does not exist on the given path.”
6. Deleted used from backend, purged site and browser cache
7. Reset the wordpress.com “client secret” and entered updated in social login backend
8. Tried all steps from #2, exact same behavior ending with error
Any clues much appreciated, thanks!
PS: Please let me know if I can provide any more info.

zehawk. Reason: Added new step #7 which I'd forgotten
Tried with Linkedin, same thing happened. Signed in the first time, signed out, then tried to sign back in. Bam!
