not receiving password change email

    but am perplexed as to why i am not receiving the email (I have not changed my email address in many, many years)

    Could it be the email address you used for your old WordPress account “many years ago” is not active?

    I just tried resetting my password, and the email came right away.

    There are other ways of resetting your password, details here:

    As to your possible email issue, there are many reasons why a website can’t send emails, among them SMTP configuration etc. You may want to talk to your website hosting support about this.

    @rossmitchell,

    My understanding was that @mediumtest was referring to his account here at the WordPress.org website, not his/her own website.
