    Hi

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere in the forum, but I could only find references to importing / exporting users, and I’m having problems transferring settings from one site to another. I’ve gone to Settings / Advanced and Export on the source site, & tried both downloading the .json file and copying the text of the backup. However, when I go to Import on the destination site, I cannot select that .json file by clicking on Import from file; it just brings up an empty box. I pasted the backup text in there, clicked on Import, then Save changes at the bottom of the screen – but no changes have been made to the default setup.

I’m obviously doing something wrong – can someone please tell me what it is?

    Thanks
    Pete

    PS – it’s v1.3.88 on both sites

    Hi @petebm,

Import/Export settings will only import/export Ultimate member settings, not users.
If you want to import/export users and user meta you have to use CSV import/export plugins.

    Regards.

    Hi again
Thanks for the reply; I’m afraid I didn’t make myself clear. What I’m trying to avoid is having to setup things like my edited forms again (eg default UM registration), along with UM permissions on pages / menu items / widgets etc. I don’t need to export users or their roles – I only have a handful of test ones anyway. I’m also puzzled as to why I couldn’t seem to get the import process to work properly – unless that’s because I was expecting the impossible. Is there a doc anywhere on it?
If I can’t do it, so be it – but I thought I’d ask!

    Cheers
    Pete

    Hi @petebm,

Unfortunately, there is no option to backup/restore Ultimate member forms, we will see if we can add this option in the future.

    Regards.

OK – thanks for making that clear.
