Delete comments vs delete posts???

If I click delete on a comment it is not deleted. If I click delete on a post it is deleted? Is this correct?

If you delete a comment it should be removed from the database otherwise don’t label the link “delete”, simply call it “mark as spam”.

If I am missing something here please let me know.
