where can i find the default template that wordpress comes with, since the one at alexking.org doesn’t seem to be workin w/ me

Just to be clear. There is nothing *wrong* with your default index file. It isjust that many of the style sheets do not fit together with it very well. Hence there are broken layouts. To adjust you need to edit both files. I have just published some material on my blog on these issues. HTH.
