Manually updating a themeforest template within WordPress

    Hello,
    I have taken over running of an ecommerce site and the themeforest says that my current theme is outdated.

    Themeforest will not assist as they only deal with the account holder (previous admin) who kindly sent the latest files from Themeforest.

    Am I correct in thinking that if I copy the style.css from the new files and paste in: /wp-admin/theme-editor.php that this will be sufficient?

    Any suggestions on what to do beforehand in case it all goes horribly wrong?
