Permalink Situation

I just noticed a bunch of problems with my permalinks that weren’t happening a few days ago.

I have permalinks set to use this scheme

http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/1198

and everything with posts works just fine. The problem lies with the pages. They of course should use the same structure but do not. they end up coming up as

http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/video-archive-3/top-12-boys-22008

instead of

http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/?page_id=1173

like they should which is no problem except for the fact that any new pages written and published come up as a 404

I have updated my permalinks and even contacted my host. They are stumped and so am i. I have looked through the forum and can’t find something that will work for my situation.

Any ideas? If I switch back to default permalinks new pages created show just fine but I don’t want to have to change back. I need to use the permalink function I have been using right along
