Comments still appearing

    Hi forum.

    Ive made a portfolio gallery and when I click on the image to view it, Im getting a comments box below. I have gone to:

    Settings >> Discussion >> uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles”

    And I can still see the comment box below.

    As you just remove comments on future post,take a look at this one:
    Disable Comments That might do the trick.

    Is there no other option besides installing a plugin?

    You can look for this line in your child theme
    single.php
    <?php comments_template(); ?>
    Make a comment of the lines or delete the lines.
