• When updating WordPress and the plugins that you are using.

It would be great to be able to see on the plugin page, for each plugin which version of wordpress it is currently compatible with.

This would make updating plugins and wordpress in a compatible and undisruptive way much easier and quicker, as then you wouldn’t have to click on the details for each plugin to be updated to make sure that it is compatible with the current version of wordpress that you want to use.

Just a little suggestion to make the web admin guys life a little easier :O)

Just clicked on the “Udate WordPress now” button.

On the list of plugins that have new updates it does show the compatibility of those plugins.

But, it would still be great to see which of the plugins that don’t have updates might break/not work properly with the version of WordPress to be upgraded to as this needs to be checked before updating WordPress to ensure the website continues to function correctly without breaking.

It’s not a bad suggestion. 😉 But the majority of plugin authors don’t test and only update that compatibility when they update the plugin.

For production WordPress installs it may be a good idea to have a test install just for that reason. If the test install works then you can install that plugin on your production instance.

Again it’s a good suggestion, I just don’t think that can be automated. 😉
