Plugin Only Working When Securing Page-by-Page…

Right, so Google said jump and we are.
Having problems, however. When attempting to secure the whole site via “/” in filters, the site breaks and I am locked out of admin. Further, the re-set option does not work to resolve this – the plugin has to be deleted to get back in.
Also, attempting to secure the site by changing the addresses under “Settings” to https:// does the exact same thing: breaks the site and locks me out of admin, with the plugin needing to be deleted to get back in.
Interestingly, everything is fine if I secure each page and post individually by ticking the “Secure Post” box on each, individual page and post… with well over 10,000 pages/posts, I would obviously prefer to just add “/” in filters; or, and better yet, to be able to simply change the site’s addresses as per the plugin’s instructions.
We are using CloudFlare’s shared SSL (should that be pertinent) – everything is configured correctly on that end (i.e. ‘Flexible SSL’).
Any help is very much appreciated.
