I really have no idea how to pick apart php to create a custom theme. Can anyone help me with this or at lease point me in the right direction? I have been so grateful for the help I have recieved thus far… Thanks

Hey I know this is a bit f a noobish question but I could really use a little bit of help. I know html and css well but Am a bit retarded in my knowlege of php… Please help…

If you know HTML/CSS well, then you really don’t need to “pick apart” PHP in order to design your own custom design.

What editor are you using? Have looked at the growing list of free themes.wordpress.net/? Downloading one of them and modifying it to suit your purposes is a good place to start.

Another good place to start is reading about codex.wordpress.org/Templates, codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags, codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates and codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop.

You really may have to wait more than 20 minutes before bumping. You just took yourself out of the “posts with no replies” list that many volunteers use as a starting place.

Good point HHandy but I have a very limited time to work this afternoon while the baby is asleep.. I will be more patient next time… Thanks KatGirl Good place to start.
