Doesn't work,

    Gave it a try, but I can’t even upload a file. I tried dragging a file to the “Upload from PC” box, then tried using the ‘Select Files’ button, but nothing happens at all. I tried uploading a .doc and there’s no ‘Loading’ or anything, I even waited a while. Nothing happens at all.

    Just to make sure, I tested it on a page – added the file, typed in the password to download, and it says “Download Complete” but all I got was a file with no extension named “download-manager-files” that was zero kb…

    1st, if you are not using latest version of wp, you need to update your copy. but if you already using latest version of wp, then it could be a conflict with other plugin

    I’m using the latest version of WP, it’s a new site I’m working on. I have no other plugins enabled.

    in that case you may try with deleting and reinstalling again

    Thanks Shaon, I did that twice and nothing changed.
