• I’m a bit overwhelmed after going through way too much resistance in my quest to get the kind of lightbox I need for my website, so I’m going to ask for some step by step guidance here.

What I basically want is a single lightbox feature that covers both images and video content for my website. Most importantly, though, I need it to appear in (what I assume is) the original lightbox design. Thus far I’ve been using the plugin WP jQuery Lightbox by Ulf Benjaminsson, which works wonders for my image gallery needs. However, it does not support video content.

So in brief, I just want a lightbox exactly like the one presented on my website, which will also load the video content that is to be presented in a gallery format on the visual motion page. I was planning to present this by creating an image gallery of thumbnails that link to the video content, so that when a thumbnail is clicked on, the linked video loads directly in a lightbox – presto! This will most likely be presented as embeds from YouTube, but additional options are welcome too.

There is one more thing, though: is the plugin responsive? Because I want my website to be 100% responsive for compatibility with hanheld devices, and the rest of the site should already comply to this criteria. The WP jQuery Lightbox is already fully responsive, so if this feature is lacking in Lightbox Plus, I would very much appreciate some support to help me implement video functionality into the first.

    Thanks.

What exactly do you mean by responsive?

Elements that resize to fit mobile devices. The WP jQuery Lightbox is a good example of this, which is the plugin I currently use. You can demonstrate it in action (with personal CSS tweaks for color and center alignment) from the link to my website above.

Ok, just checking. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about various different responsive thing ranging from a theme names to this. The answer is yes. Lightbox Plus uses Colorbox as it’s lightbox and Colorbox is considered responsive.

See examples on mobile and desktop.

It is not responsive. It stays the same size regardless of the screen size. It is nice looking, and functions well, but it is not responsive.
