But this process will be able to remount the “category tree during the importation?
I’m pretty sure it will although I’ve never exported such a huge number of posts from one site to another. I think it’s the sheer number of pages that is causing the export to timeout right now.
Is a huge large site. Is the result of 12 years of job.
COuld you tell me if exportation of cat by cat and the refered importantion could solve the matter?
Than you in advance
As I said, I’ve never exported such a huge number of posts from one site to another. so I can’t answer you with absolute certainly. All I can suggest is that you try it out with a couple of the smaller categories first.
There might be another alternative. Bear with me whilst I make some enquiries…
Ok, tthank you
I’ll update yu as soon as possible
HI!
I made different.
Instead to migrate categories, I migrated from date periods.
Eg. january 2000 december 2000.
Matter of fact is very slow to migrate, but it works
Thank you for your attention
Bests wishes
Claudio
Were you able to get yourself up and running that way?
Some export files are too large for us to import, so we have to run a CLI importer, but we can always do that for you free of charge if you contact us via http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
If it’s timing out on the export, there’s not much we can do for that since it’s outside of our control. Generally, I just recommend asking your hosting provider to temporarily boost the PHP memory limit, or splitting the export up by date range.
Once you have the export file, no matter how large it is, we can help get you up and running at no extra charge.
Thank, James. The info about the import assistance was very useful 🙂
