• We have been using multisite very successfully for the past 9 months and I would now like to upgrade from 3.2 to 3.4 but the only thing I have been able to glean from various posts on the subject is that this should be done manually

Other than that it has been hard to tell if there are any other variations from the standard process outlined in the WP codex

Many thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction!

Upgrade the same way you did regular WP 🙂

Thanks – that gave me the little bit of courage I needed 🙂

And on top of what is detailed in the codex I came up with a couple of additional things on my own – please feel free to comment anyone!

STEP 9 /wp-admin/network/upgrade.php instead of /wp-admin/upgrade.php will upgrade all of the sites in a network at once

AFTER STEP 3 You can use a temporary index.php file in the root directory that contains some kind of visitor friendly message (and nothing else) while you deactivate plugins and replace core files etc

Should automatically redirect you when you try it…

But I wouldn’t even bother with the extended instructions. The auto-upgrade works perfectly 🙂
