I would like to use this wonderful plugin for tables within my pages. However, it’s very important for my SEO that search engines be able to crawl my tables.

I want to have information within my tables and be able to link certain names to another page with more specific information about that name.

I want to receive credit for the internal links.

When looking at the post within my WordPress back-end… the table is simply being inserted as [table id=2 /] in both the create post and the post HTML.

My limited knowledge to this point would say search engines are unable to crawl these tables and thus I will not be receiving any credit for links within those tables.

    Correct?

    Hi,

in the final output (i.e. the HTML code that every site visitor, including search engines) sees, the table is written in HTML code, just like if it would be inserted by hand. The visitor or search engine won’t know that you used a Shortcode.

So, nothing to worry about here in SEO terms. Search engines will see the table content just fine.

    Regards,
    Tobias
