You can find your WP version in the bottom right hand corner. Here’s the codex about permalinks: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks. Watch your language please π
Thanks Patrick.
“The bottom right hand corner” of what?
Your WordPress dashboard. yourdomain.com/wp-admin
If you mean yourdomain.wordpress.com/wp-admin … I’ve looked and there is nothing there??
Ah, your using wordpress.com not wordpress.org. They are different! WordPress.org is something you install on your server. WordPress.com is a free online blogging service where you don’t need to buy your own domain.
Ok! So, if I’m asked for the version here (wp.org), is it really necessary?
And, I’ve already read the page on permalinks you sent me and it doesn’t deal with my issue – linking a ‘Page’ directly to another website address:-(
Thanks.
You’ll be able to find more help at the wordpress.com forum. http://en.support.wordpress.com/
Creating a custom menu sounds like it will work for what you need. Under Appearance > Menu, create a new menu and add a custom link to your website along with the other pages you want displayed with it.
Thank you caseydukes, I’ll try it now.
Well, that ‘worked’. The problem now is that it has replaced all my Pages:-(
Is there anyway of getting them back? Can I have a ‘Menu’ and ‘Pages’ displayed at the same time?
