hi there

when i insert a read more tag into my blog it opens a new page, shows full text but automatcially scrolls to comments section – theres a number after the more link as oyu can see

anyone know how i can get rid so it just links to the top of the article on a new page?

you need to add some code to functions.php of your theme:

thanks so much, but on my god, ive added the code to the themes-function and there was a syntax error now i cant get back in!

never mind i managed to get it back by editing file on the server

but where abouts on the page should the read more code go please?

probably the safest location to add the code into functions.php is right at the end, in its own line before the last ?>
