hey @larry111
I am glad to help.
If you make sure you follow the corresponding mailer guide, and you send a test email from WP Mail SMTP > Tools to a couple email addresses, you will know if your site is sending emails properly.
If test emails go out fine, and you receive them, then you can create a test form and see how it goes.
Also, check your email deliverability score here: https://www.mail-tester.com/ (send a test email from WP Mail SMTP > Tools to the email address provided by the tool). And you’ll get a report with issues and ways to improve. Sending is only one side of the coin, delivering emails is the other one.
Please kindly know that WordPress mail sending is not super easy by nature, as it is ruled by industry standards like DNS records. Since the idea is preventing spammers and bots from sending unwanted email, making things overly simple goes against the purpose of securing email sending. On the other hand, it is not that techically difficult onces you get to familiarize yourself with requirements, steps, terms, etc.
I hope this helps
