Embedded player problems
-
Hi, I recently moved my wordPress over to my own hosting with surpass. Once I imported all my XML data to the new host, none of my embedded players worked. It only showed the HTML script. I tried to go back and edit the post and even start a new post with the HTML code from my Bandcamp, Soundcloud, youtube and still nothing. Only the script. Please help!

Are you pasting the code in the HTML tab or the Visual tab?
I’ve tried both. When I upload in the HTML tab, I get just the HTML script in the post. When I upload in the visual, I can see a yellow box with F in it but when I look at the post, there’s nothing there. Could I possibly need a certain flash plugin after I upload using my own host?
If you’re uploading the videos, you’ll need a plugin to play them. Try this one:
It’s not just videos. I have songs on my bandcamp acct. My soundcloud acct and I can’t get the embedded player to show up using the HTML code generated for wordpress on those sites. for example:
on http://www.theare.wordpress.com(My free WP acct) the link below has the usual bandcamp player
[bandcamp track=1473320414 size=venti bgcol=FFFFFF linkcol=4285BB]One my new wordpress which is hosted through surpass, all I get it that script. I also tried the HTML embed link for wordpress.org and still the same results
[bandcamp track=1473320414 size=venti bgcol=FFFFFF linkcol=4285BB]
That’s shortcode, which wordpress.com uses quite frequently. A regular WordPress blog can’t process it without a plugin.
Regular HTML embed codes, like the ones you get from youtube.com, should work properly if pasted into the HTML tab. If you’re still having trouble, try the plugin I recommended.
Ok, thanks!! Things are working now. I’m using the other HTML code given for WP.org and actually publishing it and it works. The tricky part for me is that I always hit “preview” to make sure things are right and by doing this, the HTML embedded doesn’t show up. It only shows up after publishing it. Thanks for your help!
You’re welcome!
