    Hi
    I used the image optimization feature and optimized all of my images. Then used the “Delete all backups of the original images” and the deletion was successful.
    Now when i check my uploads folder I can see two of each image. One with the original extension and one with .webp extension. For example :

    image.jpg
    image.jpg.webp

    Is this intended behavior?
    I am asking since my disk usage has gone way up (about 30 percent). Is there a way I can fix this?

    Hi,

    yes, this is normal

    image.jpg -> the optimized jpg file

    image.jpg.webp -> the webp version

    if you did not remove original backup , you will also see one named as image.bk.jpg which is backup file

    yes, once you enabled webp version , one image will have 2 versions, one for jpg , one for webp , that could take some space.

    best regards,

    Thank you for your reply.
    Are there any settings to only keep the WEBP files?
