    Hi

I’m trying to install a new theme for my blog (one that isn’t available on the Worpress Site and has to be uploaded). The problem is I can’t upload it. I pick a source (my desktop), click ‘upload’ and after a while it says that the file couldn’t be uploaded to //wp-content/uploads/2010/05. I tried to upload it with the Filezilla but I don’t know how to unzipp and instal it then.

    Thanks for your help.

    Greg

Actually now it turns out I can’t upload any data. I just tried with a photo and it said ‘temporary file doesn’t exist’ (I use a translated version of WP, so it’s a retranslation). I can’t figure out what’s going on. I never had such a problem with my another account before.

    Thanks for helping!

You need to FTP your theme into wp-content/themes/YOUR THEME

Thanks it helped, but I still can’t upload anything the regular way. Any clue?

Make sure you have created the wp-uploads directory and make sure it is chmod 755 (writeable). Then it should work! If your host is the difficult kind, you might have problems with the flash upload, then you must use the reguraly upload.
Uploads to wp-uploads is attatchemnts like images, and themes is only in the themes folder. The themes must be uploaded by ftp.

    Thank you ThorHammer!

I checked: the wp-uploads directory exists. I use HTML upload option. After I try to upload a file, it shows a message: ‘temporary directory doesn’t exist’. Which directory? How do I check if the directory is writeable? Sorry for this type of questions but I can’t go any further with my site without figuring it out.
