Where is the PDF hosted? It must be on the same domain as the rest of the site. It can’t be on a CDN. If it is, then check with the host to see what the issue is.
The HTTP 403 Forbidden client error status response code indicates that the server understood the request but refuses to authorize it
Hello guys!
Same here. This error is happening now. Never happened before.
All plugins are up-to-date, and WP is 5.7.
Using Cloudflare.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Facing the same issue. Was working fine previously.
On checking with the host, was advised to provide direct PHP file access. This is a less secure option, but the PDF is displayed when access is provided.

I ended up giving up using PDFs and moved on to another strategy.
Thanks!
Thanks, John!
I tried this one too, but I think there was a conflict with Elementor or Chrome Mobile.
@leomarioto you’re right. Chrome mobile is conflicting with this other plugin 🙁
Can I ask which solution you used?
Can someone give me a URL where I can see the issue? At this time, I can’t troubleshoot without seeing the issue.
Hello,
I have the same issue : everything was working well and now, I get a “403 Forbidden” when the PDFJS viewer trys to acces a file.
WP 5.7.2 with PDFJS 2.0.0
I tried rollback to 1.5.9 but the issue remains.

I have included a test with Embed PDF Viewer.
With this plugin te file is correctly displayed.
Hello,
I open a ticket to the host : they said it’s not a server issue
Beside, it’s working with the other plugin(Embed PDF viewer).
I tried your URL:
– the #zoom=auto&pagemode=none are working
– but the &dButton=true create an error 403
I cannot find the origin of the followinf parameters dButton pButton oButton and sButton. They are not documented in Adobe neither in HTTP
Thomas,
Additional information : I moved from PHP 7.3 to 7.4 which is recommended.
It may have an impact
OK the issue is with the server company….
You have to enable: DIRECT PHP FILES ACCESS
