• The classic editor was fine. I hate the new editor like cancer. But the only way to use the classic editor is via a plugin, and the only way to install a plugin is to “upgrade” to $300-$400 a year. So you’ve taken something that was simple and worked fine, and made it unbelievably (and unnecessarily for many, I’m sure) unpleasant, and to simply make it usable agan you want to charge me a lot of money. In any other business this would be called “extortion”. Nice blog you have there. Be a shame if someone made it horrible to edit.

    Do I have this right?

  • I have the plug-in and I didn’t have to pay for it. I don’t know what you mean by upgrading.
Do a search in plug-ins for Classic Editor.

Perhaps you can explain what part of this I’m misunderstanding:

“If you are using WordPress.com, then you cannot install plugins.

You cannot install plugins on WordPress.com unless you upgrade to their business plan.”

I’ve never heard of that before. I use WordPress, and I am able to install many plugins.
    Sorry, I can’t help you!

According to that, you must be hosting it yourself i.e. just running the wordpress software rather than using a blog on wordpress.com .

Can you confirm or deny this?

I use siteground that hosts my websites.

I do pay for that but it is nowhere like $100’s of dollars!
