Unable to remove default :focus styles for wp7 elements.

I created a gated content section using contact form 7 but I’m running into an issue. No matter what I change or try to do, I am unable to remove the default :focus styles applied to the cf7 elements. Any time I select any item on the contact form, it gets a black border around it which no matter what I do I can’t seem to remove. Clicking the button, which is rounded, shows a black border around the button that has square corners.
