Installation and Update Failure

    Whenever I try to activate the plugin, I get the error message “Activation failed: The Yoast SEO plugin installation is incomplete. Please refer to installation instructions.”

    Then when I deleted it and tried to download it via the Plugins page, I got the error message “Installation failed: Could not copy file. wordpress-seo/js/dist/term-edit-1481.js”

    Finally, I downloaded the zip folder of the plugin and tried to upload it. This is the error message I got: “Could not copy file. wordpress-seo/js/dist/term-edit-1481.js”

    I can activate other plugins successfully. Any help is appreciated!

    Hi @markitors,

    This issue typically occurs when the plugin installer cannot copy the necessary plugin files during the installation due to the wrong file/folder permission setup on the server. You may need to contact your hosting provider to make sure WordPress has the proper permissions.

    To re-install the plugin, we recommend manually installing the plugin by following the steps are given in this installation guide.
