Can’t launch any job

Hi
I’ve reinstalled my website to a new host.
By doing so, I had to update mye wordpress version as well as most of my addons including Backwpup.
I imported mywordpress database which automatically was updated at first launch of the site.
It is strange that the 2 jobs I had set with Backwpup disappeared.
However it didn’t take long to set them again.
But whatever job I try to set, even a simple one, I can’t manage to make it work at launch.
I get the follwing red texte message :

Which means :

The folder /home/vol7_8/byethost15.com/b15_25672742/htdocs/wp-content/uploads/backwpup-26a332-temp is not authorised, please choose another one.

the folder/home/vol7_8/byethost15.com/b15_25672742/htdocs /wp-content/uploads/backwpup-26a332-logs is not authorised, please choose another one.

The folder actually exists and existed in my site backup before I reinstalled it. It contained the logs of my previously backup jobs obtained with Backwpup

The folder backwpup-26a332-temp does not exist but didn’t exist neither in my site backup.
However, this addon used to work very fine with my former site.

Can you help me solve this issue ?

The site is bacch.byethost15.com but I don’t think it will help much.

Hi @noftal
the easiest solution I would suggest you do now is just to uninstall BackWPUp then install it again and reconfigure jobs ^^
Normally it should works!

Thanks for the advice.
I tried to uninstall the plugin from my dashboard.
At first, after a few seconds, I had the red texte message : “deletion failed…”
But after refreshing the page, the plugin had vanished from the list of plugins.
However, I see that there is still a folder named /wp-content/plugins/backwpup on my server.
Besides, I still see some likely related fields in my database/table “options” like
updraft_report_wholebackup
updraft_autobackup_default
updraft_backupdb_nonwp
updraft_backup_history
updraft_last_backup
wpadm_backup_email
wpadm_backup_dropbox-setting
wp_db_backup_excs
inpsyde-phone-consent-given-BackWPup

Other fields of this table contain traces of backwpup.

So I’m not sure the plugin was correctly and fully uninstalled.
What can I do to complete the task ?
Will the deletion of the plugin/backwpup be enough ?
Is there anything to do in the database before re-installing the plugin ?

“deletion failed…” that mean the plugins folder has write protected thus couldnt be deleted.
Maybe your hoster blocked that. You can contact them and ask they about the plugin uninstall issue.

Hi,
I reinstalled everything from scratch, just to make sure. The only thing I took from the pat was my Database.
The issue still remains.
It seems that the plugin wants to create a folder “uploads/backwpup-021711-temp” and is not allowed to. I even created this folder manually giving all the rights to it but it doesn’t change.
Same issue with the folder in which the logs should be stored. By default, the plugins created the folder “uploads/backwpup-021711-logs” but says it can’t access to it though the rights are full. I tried to specify another folder like simply “uploads” but it’s still the same.
Could that come from my new host ? However I also have an PHPBB forum on my site and the backup function works there ; it can store a database backup in forum/store. So if my host did disallow automatic storage on the server, it would be everywhere.
Could that be another reason ?

Please try to first add write permission to your uploads folder, then uninstall the plugin then install it again.
Seems like you have messed up with folder permission.
I hope that could help ^^

I already tried this (chmod 777). Same result.

No, I first added 777 permission to “uploads” folder then I uninstalled and then I reinstalled as you suggested.

hmm did you use free hosting or BackWPUp plugin is banned in the hosting?
Can you contact the hoster and ask if BackWPUp is banned?

It is true that I use free hosting. But if I ask “do you ban BackWPUp” they likely won’t be able to answer.
Is there any PHP functionnality that you use in your code that some hosters reject ?
If so can you tell what they are ? I could then ask them if they accept them.

Some hoster like WPEngine banned backup plugins, so normally there was nothing we can do.
Maybe you can try to rename backwpup folder then run the job again?
