Well, you either use custom fields to give link to your image and then call that image in the front page of your website. Or, easier yet, get one of plugins that gets thumbnails from your post to automatically show up with excerpt on front page. choose from:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/thumbnails
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/thumbnail
or some tested plugins
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-post-thumbnails/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ordered-thumbnails/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/get-the-image/
Hi,
Refer this article for the attachment of the images in your blog:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Image_and_File_Attachments
In this make sure that you have assign 766 recursive permissions to wp-contents folder of your blog. Also you can use these plugins:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/picapp/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/super-image-plugin/
Thanks,
Shane G.
mercime- I don’t want a thumbnail, I just want the picture like it would normally show in the post. what are the custom fields to do that?
shane- I don’t see anything in that article that helps me. am I glancing over it?

Ok, misunderstood you earlier. User the <!--more--> tag in your Write Panel after the sentences and image you want to include in your front page. For more information, WordPress Codex is your friend.
the <!–more–> tag only affects text…pictures are still excluded from the frontpage.
I also didn’t see anything of help in the codex.
EDIT: all I want is something like this: http://winterblink.com. His images display the same way on the front page and in the posts
