    I am trying to create a webpage and the theme I chose suggests Elementor as a plugin; however, it keeps “failing” even when I try the other route of downloading directly from ELementor’s site and then uploading to WordPress plugins for my site. Is there something I’m missing?

    It looks like you have loaded Elementor before, otherwise the directory would not be there. Deactivate and remove Elementor and try another install. If you only deactivate Elementor, you will not be able to load it again.
