Akismet seems to have lost ability to recognize spam

    I’ve received at least 50 comments in the last 12 hours that Akismet has put into moderation. The thing is, these are quite obviously spam. The author names are things like “free forex trading ebook” and the comments are pages long with hundreds of spammy links in them. NONE of these in the past 2 days or so have been put into spam, every one caught by Akismet goes into moderation. A few have even made it through to approved comments, which is even more ridiculous.

    This is a new development, I’ve been running Akismet on this site for almost a year now without much problem.

    Anyone know why this is going on now?

    Ok now I’m getting pissed. Akismet just let through a comment that started with this, “Very few things in life can get a c*ck harder then watching really cute teen girls f*ck their brains out.” Without the censoring. And I won’t go into the rest of the comment.

    This is ridiculous! Somebody help.

    I should add that yes, my Akismet is the latest version, 2.2.3, and WordPress is 2.7.1

    I just started having the same problem. Askimet has caught spam excellently for months, but yesterday it allowed five messages that were obviously spam, and this morning I get up and there are three more. I’m also using 2.2.3 and 2.7.1.
