The plugin enables a set of safe defaults on first activation, and you can fine-tune each toggle in 4 sections: HTML head cleanup, Scripts &amp; styles, Security hardening, and Other.<\/p>\n\n<p>Every toggle ships with a 1-line summary visible at a glance, plus an expandable \"More info\" block that explains how it works, why it matters, and any caveat before flipping the switch. No guesswork.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Toggles included<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>HTML head cleanup:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>WordPress version meta tag and RSS feed version.<\/li>\n<li>Windows Live Writer manifest link.<\/li>\n<li>RSD link.<\/li>\n<li>Shortlinks (<code>?p=123<\/code>).<\/li>\n<li>RSS feed auto-discovery links (optional).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Scripts and styles:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Emoji fallback script and styles.<\/li>\n<li>oEmbed discovery and embed JS.<\/li>\n<li>jQuery Migrate on the frontend (optional).<\/li>\n<li>Dashicons for non-logged-in visitors (optional).<\/li>\n<li>Block editor global styles when you do not use Gutenberg (optional).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Security hardening:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>XML-RPC (an endpoint often used for brute-force login attempts).<\/li>\n<li>Public REST API for unauthenticated users (optional, blocks user enumeration).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Other:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Self-pingbacks (no more auto-comments on your own posts).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>All toggles are reversible: untick the switch and changes save automatically. No external services, no remote calls, no telemetry.<\/p>\n\n<h3>External services<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin does not call any third-party service or external API. All operations happen locally on your WordPress installation, by adding or removing standard WordPress filters and actions.<\/p>\n\n<p>The \"Quick links\" card in the admin sidebar links to public third-party tools (Google PageSpeed, GTmetrix, Sucuri SiteCheck) for the convenience of the administrator. These are plain external links, opened in a new tab. The plugin does not send any data to those services.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Privacy<\/h3>\n\n<p>aGo Cleanup does not collect or transmit any data. It stores only one option in the <code>wp_options<\/code> table under the key <code>agocleanup_settings<\/code>, containing the toggle states. No custom database tables are created. Deactivating the plugin does not delete the stored option. Uninstalling the plugin deletes it.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Upload the <code>ago-cleanup<\/code> folder to <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code> or install via the Plugins screen and upload the zip.<\/li>\n<li>Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.<\/li>\n<li>Go to aGo Tools, then Cleanup.<\/li>\n<li>The safe defaults are already enabled. Use the toggles to fine-tune.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"will%20this%20break%20my%20site%3F\"><h3>Will this break my site?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Each toggle removes an optional WordPress feature. The defaults enabled on activation are conservative (head meta, emojis, XML-RPC, self-pingbacks). The toggles marked with caveats (block REST API, remove jQuery Migrate, drop Dashicons, drop block editor styles) are off by default and explain what to test before enabling.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20affect%20my%20admin%3F\"><h3>Does it affect my admin?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Most toggles affect only the frontend output and the public REST API. The wp-admin area keeps working in full.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"why%20are%20the%20%22recommended%22%20toggles%20enabled%20automatically%3F\"><h3>Why are the \"recommended\" toggles enabled automatically?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Because the recommended set is safe for the vast majority of WordPress sites. You can flip any of them back off, or hit Reset to start from zero.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20the%20plugin%20send%20any%20data%20to%20a%20third%20party%3F\"><h3>Does the plugin send any data to a third party?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Zero outbound network traffic. No telemetry, no usage stats, no remote configuration. The plugin only adds and removes WordPress hooks locally.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"is%20there%20a%20way%20to%20switch%20the%20plugin%20language%3F\"><h3>Is there a way to switch the plugin language?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>The plugin uses your WordPress site language.
