Install it, activate it, and it works.<\/p>\n\n<p>There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to configure. Speech comes from the visitor's own browser, so no text or personal data ever leaves their device.<\/p>\n\n<h4>What it does<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Reads the main content of a post or page aloud<\/li>\n<li>Play, pause, stop, and adjust speed from 0.5x to 2x<\/li>\n<li>Skips navigation, headers, footers, sidebars, and comments<\/li>\n<li>Pauses naturally after headings and list items<\/li>\n<li>Works with keyboard and screen readers: real buttons, visible focus, Escape to close<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>Matches your theme<\/h4>\n\n<p>The player takes its colors from your theme's own palette when the theme provides one, so it looks like it belongs. On themes that don't, it uses a neutral light or dark look that follows the visitor's system setting. Typography is inherited from your site.<\/p>\n\n<p>There are no color presets, skins, or styling options. That is deliberate.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Settings<\/h4>\n\n<p>Under <strong>Settings \u2192 page narrator<\/strong> you can choose:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Whether the narrator is on<\/li>\n<li>Which post types and the front page show it<\/li>\n<li>Bottom-right or bottom-left corner<\/li>\n<li>Whether to send playback events to Google Analytics, if your site already loads it (off by default)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>Privacy<\/h4>\n\n<p>No external service is contacted. Speech is generated locally by the browser. The optional analytics setting only calls your site's existing <code>gtag()<\/code> function and is off unless you turn it on.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Upload the <code>dadalab-page-narrator<\/code> folder to <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code>, or install the zip through <strong>Plugins \u2192 Add New \u2192 Upload Plugin<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Activate the plugin.<\/li>\n<li>Visit a post or page. The player appears in the bottom corner.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally adjust <strong>Settings \u2192 page narrator<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20need%20an%20account%20or%20api%20key%3F\"><h3>Does it need an account or API key?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. It uses the Web Speech API built into modern browsers.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20it%20match%20my%20theme%3F\"><h3>Will it match my theme?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>If your theme defines a base and contrast color (most modern block themes do), the player uses them. Otherwise it uses a neutral palette that follows the visitor's light or dark system setting.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20i%20change%20the%20colors%3F\"><h3>Can I change the colors?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Not from the settings screen. The plugin is designed to inherit your theme rather than carry its own look. Developers can override the <code>--dlpn-bg<\/code> and <code>--dlpn-fg<\/code> custom properties in CSS.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20send%20any%20data%20anywhere%3F\"><h3>Does it send any data anywhere?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Speech is produced in the browser.
