Every popup comes from a real, paid order in your shop. Sales Popup has no setting to invent orders, buyers, reviews or numbers, and never will.<\/p>\n\n<p>You decide how much of the buyer is shown. By default no name is shown (\"Someone\"), and the buyer can untick a box at checkout to keep their purchase out of the popup.<\/p>\n\n<p>Only orders with status Processing or Completed are shown. Refunded, cancelled, failed, pending and on-hold orders never appear. If there are no orders in the time window, nothing is shown: no empty box, no sample.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Free version (this plugin)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Popup with real paid orders: product photo, product name, location and \"2 hours ago\".<\/li>\n<li>Orders from the last 7 days.<\/li>\n<li>Position bottom-left or bottom-right. Excluded orders are also left out of the counter and the best-seller badge.<\/li>\n<li>Colours, size and animation.<\/li>\n<li>Sales report: popup views, clicks, and orders after a click.<\/li>\n<li>Real review popup, from approved 4 and 5 star WooCommerce reviews, with the same name and location privacy settings.<\/li>\n<li>Real \"Only 3 left\" line, from your actual stock count (needs stock management on).<\/li>\n<li>\"Best seller this week\" badge, from your real orders.<\/li>\n<li>Your own wording, in any language.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Privacy<\/h3>\n\n<p>Sales Popup shows data from orders on your own site to your visitors, as described above. It saves your settings, and one flag on an order when the buyer unticks the checkout box (<code>_salepop_hide<\/code>). Sales Popup Free stores nothing in the visitor's browser except session flags that keep the popup from repeating (<code>salepop_seen<\/code>, <code>salepop_closed<\/code>, <code>salepop_own<\/code>, in session storage). The Pro report stores only daily counts of popup views and clicks, plus a flag (<code>_salepop_click<\/code>) on an order placed within 7 days after a popup click in the same browser (this uses one first-party cookie, <code>salepop_click<\/code>, set at checkout for up to 7 days, and the browser's local storage, both only in the Pro version); it stores no IP address, no visitor profile and no personal data. Uninstall cleanup is for a single site, not a multisite network. Uninstalling removes the settings, the counts table and the banner preference. Order flags are kept, because they are the buyer's choice.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Upload the <code>salepop<\/code> folder to <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code>, or install the zip from Plugins &gt; Add New.<\/li>\n<li>Activate Sales Popup. WooCommerce must be active.<\/li>\n<li>Go to WooCommerce &gt; Sales Popup. Answer the first question: do you sell to customers in Europe?<\/li>\n<li>Check the Privacy tab and decide how much of the buyer to show.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"why%20only%20real%20orders%3F\"><h3>Why only real orders?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>A popup with invented sales is a false claim to your customers, and in many countries it breaks consumer law. Sales Popup only shows paid orders from your own shop, so every popup is true.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20is%20shown%2C%20and%20what%20is%20never%20shown%3F\"><h3>What is shown, and what is never shown?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Shown: a first name only if you choose it (or \"Someone\", or half a name), the billing city or state, the product name, photo and link, and how long ago. Never shown: surname, address lines, postcode, phone, email, price or quantity.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20is%20the%20checkout%20box%3F\"><h3>What is the checkout box?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>At checkout the buyer sees \"Show my purchase in the store's recent sales popup\". If the buyer unticks it, that order is never shown. In the settings you choose whether the box starts ticked or unticked. On the Block checkout the buyer's choice also appears in the order details and in the emails.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"i%20had%20orders%20before%20i%20installed%20sales%20popup.%20are%20they%20shown%3F\"><h3>I had orders before I installed Sales Popup. Are they shown?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes, if they are inside the time window and paid. Those orders have no saved checkbox choice, so they are shown by your name and location settings. Sales Popup shows popups as soon as it is activated. If you sell to Europe, set Name to Hidden and answer the first question before you leave the settings open to visitors.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"do%20i%20need%20to%20mention%20the%20popup%20in%20my%20privacy%20policy%3F\"><h3>Do I need to mention the popup in my privacy policy?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>We recommend it. Add a sentence saying that the shop shows recent purchases (product, town and time) in a popup, and that buyers can opt out at checkout.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20work%20with%20page%20caching%3F\"><h3>Does it work with page caching?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. The popup list is loaded after the page, in one small request that is cached on the server for 10 minutes. A saved copy of your page still shows current orders.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20if%20there%20are%20no%20recent%20orders%3F\"><h3>What if there are no recent orders?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Nothing is shown.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20the%20buyer%20see%20their%20own%20order%3F\"><h3>Does the buyer see their own order?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. A logged-in customer does not see their own orders, and a visitor does not see the order they just placed in the same browser.<\/p><\/dd>\n\n<\/dl>\n\n<!--section=changelog-->\n<h4>1.0.0<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Initial release.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","raw_excerpt":"Show real recent orders as a small popup.
