charged during the 30 days <strong>before<\/strong> the reduction (Art. 6a of Directive 98\/6\/EC; in Germany \u00a7 11 PAngV, in Austria \u00a7 9a PrAG). Since the CJEU ruling C-330\/23, the strike-through price itself has to be based on that lowest price.<\/p>\n\n<p>WooCommerce does not know any of this. Strikewise does it for you, automatically:<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n<li>It records every price change of your products.<\/li>\n<li>It shows the lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction below the product price.<\/li>\n<li>It corrects strike-through prices and does not show reductions that are not real.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>Install it, and your shop shows reductions the way the law requires. No settings needed.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Calculated correctly, also in the tricky cases<\/h3>\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The sale price never counts as its own reference.<\/strong> The window is the 30 days before the reduction started, not the last 30 days.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Deepened reductions keep their start date.<\/strong> \u221210 %, then \u221220 % without interruption: the reference stays the price before the first step.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scheduled sales use their real start date<\/strong>, not the time the WooCommerce cron ran.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Variable products:<\/strong> every variation has its own history.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Final prices incl. VAT<\/strong>, also if you enter prices excluding tax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Protection against sham discounts<\/h3>\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Correct strike-through prices (CJEU, C-330\/23), on by default:<\/strong> the strike-through price is the lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction. A \"reduction\" that is not below it is not shown as one. Sale badges, the cart and most product feeds use this price, so they are corrected too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Price raised shortly before a sale?<\/strong> The lower earlier price counts, and the shop shows it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No reduction without an earlier price:<\/strong> products that were never offered at a higher price are not shown as reduced. If Strikewise does not know the earlier price yet, you can enter it in the product.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Special cases the law mentions<\/h3>\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Coupon campaigns:<\/strong> mark a coupon code offered to everyone as a public campaign, and its price counts as the lowest price for the 30 days after it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Perishable goods:<\/strong> reductions because of an approaching best-before date are exempt (\u00a7 11 para. 4 PAngV). For reductions that started before that, no earlier price is known: they are not shown as reductions until you enter the earlier price in the product, or until a new reduction starts. VAT) you applied during the 30 days before the current reduction started, including earlier sale prices. If a reduction is deepened step by step without interruption, the start of the first step counts (\u00a7 11 para. 2 PAngV); once the sale price goes up again, a new reduction starts. If the product is newer than 30 days, the lowest price since it was added.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"do%20i%20have%20to%20show%20it%20when%20a%20product%20is%20not%20reduced%3F\"><h3>Do I have to show it when a product is not reduced?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. By default Strikewise only shows the lowest price for reduced products. You can choose to show it always.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"are%20coupons%20covered%3F\"><h3>Are coupons covered?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Personal coupons, for example after a purchase or on a birthday, are exempt (\u00a7 11 para. 4 PAngV). A coupon code offered to everyone (\"20 % off today with code XYZ\") counts as a price reduction, though. Tick \"Public campaign\" in such a coupon: Strikewise then counts the coupon price as the lowest price for the 30 days after the campaign, and if you raised a price shortly before the campaign, it shows the lower price on that product. Percentage and fixed product discounts are supported; cart discounts cannot be assigned to a product price.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20does%20strikewise%20not%20cover%3F\"><h3>What does Strikewise not cover?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Strikewise covers the prices of your WooCommerce shop. Please check these yourself:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Advertising outside the shop (newsletters, social media, print) that names a reduction.<\/li>\n<li>Prices set by discount rule plugins, which do not change the product's sale price. Do I lose my history?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Strikewise finds the Omnibus data and offers to import it (or run <code>wp strikewise import-omnibus<\/code>). Both the old post meta format and the 3.x price log posts are supported. The Omnibus data is not changed.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20strikewise%20send%20data%20anywhere%3F\"><h3>Does Strikewise send data anywhere?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Your prices stay in your database. When you activate Strikewise, you can choose whether to share basic information about your site with Freemius, the service that handles licenses and updates for Premium. Skipping this does not limit the free version.
