Every service below is off until a site administrator configures it.

Freemius (Flavors Media OS Pro only). This free version from WordPress.org does not include Freemius and never contacts it. Flavors Media OS Pro, sold separately, uses the Freemius SDK for license activation, checkout and Pro updates: when you activate a Pro license, Freemius receives the license key, your site URL and title, and WordPress, PHP and Flavors Media OS versions. Service provider: Freemius, Inc. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy.

AI connectors (Free and Pro, off by default). When an administrator turns on AI ALT text (WordPress 7.0+), Flavors Media OS first asks the configured connector whether it accepts images (a 1×1 test image), and then the images you choose and a short instruction (Pro: also nearby text from the post) are sent through the WordPress AI Client to the provider configured in Settings → Connectors (for example OpenAI, Anthropic or Google), under that provider's terms and privacy policy: OpenAI terms, OpenAI privacy, Anthropic terms, Anthropic privacy, Google terms, Google privacy. With Pro's local option, nothing leaves your server.

Flavors Media OS loads all of its own scripts, styles, fonts and images from the plugin folder. It does not load any file from FlavorsWP or a third-party server.

Your CDN (Free, off by default). CDN delivery is a service you bring: it works only after an administrator enters the hostname of a CDN account they already have, and Flavors Media OS never creates, sells or contacts a CDN account on its own. The provider presets (example hostnames such as
*.cloudfront.net
or
*.b-cdn.net
) only help you fill in your own hostname. When a hostname is saved, Flavors Media OS rewrites media URLs (and optionally theme and plugin CSS, JavaScript and font URLs) on your pages to that hostname, so visitors' browsers load those files from your CDN, which receives their IP address and request headers like any web server. Your CDN copies files from your own site. Only when an administrator clicks Test CDN, Flavors Media OS sends a HEAD request for one file to that CDN (the request's user agent includes your site address) and one to your own site to compare them. Turning the CDN off restores your original URLs immediately. The CDN is run by the provider you chose, under its terms: Cloudflare (terms, privacy), Amazon CloudFront (terms, privacy), Azure CDN / Front Door (terms, privacy), Bunny CDN (terms, privacy), KeyCDN (terms, privacy), Fastly (terms, privacy), Google Cloud CDN (terms, privacy), Akamai (terms, privacy) or any other pull CDN you use.

CDN cache purge APIs (Pro, off by default). When files change or you click Purge, the URLs to clear and your API credentials are sent to the provider you configured: Cloudflare (
api.cloudflare.com
; terms, privacy), Amazon CloudFront (
cloudfront.amazonaws.com
; terms, privacy), Microsoft Entra ID and Azure Resource Manager (
login.microsoftonline.com
,
management.azure.com
; terms, privacy), Bunny (
api.bunny.net
; terms, privacy), KeyCDN (
api.keycdn.com
; terms, privacy) or Fastly (
api.fastly.com
; terms, privacy).

Cloud storage (Pro, off by default). When you offload media, the files (originals, thumbnails and WebP/AVIF copies if enabled), their content type, checksums and storage path are sent to the provider you configured, and are sent again when edited, deleted remotely when you delete the attachment, and downloaded when you bring them back: Amazon S3 (terms, privacy), Cloudflare R2 (terms, privacy), DigitalOcean Spaces (terms, privacy), Wasabi (terms, privacy), Backblaze B2 (terms, privacy), Google Cloud Storage (terms, privacy), Azure Blob Storage (terms, privacy) or Bunny Storage (terms, privacy). With Serve from the cloud on, visitors' browsers load media from that provider or your CDN.

MCP clients and remote AI assistants (Pro only). This free version has no MCP tools and accepts no assistant connections. In Pro: MCP tools run only when an MCP client signed in as one of your users calls them, and they return data to that client only. If you allow remote assistants to connect, the assistant you approve (for example Claude by Anthropic, ChatGPT by OpenAI or Cursor) receives an access token and the results of the tools it calls, under its provider's terms: Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor. When an assistant identifies itself with an
https://
client ID, Flavors Media OS fetches that public JSON document to show the app's name; the request sends no site data other than your site address in WordPress's standard user agent. Flavors Media OS does not contact any MCP service itself.

Optional anonymous image performance measurements (Pro) are stored only in your own database, require visitor consent by default, respect Do Not Track and expire after 30 days.

Bundled third-party code

This free version contains no third-party libraries.

Flavors Media OS Pro (not this free version) bundles Hls.js 1.7.3 (Apache License 2.0) for adaptive video streaming: https://github.com/video-dev/hls.js/tree/v1.7.3.

Flavors Media OS Pro (not this free version) bundles the Freemius WordPress SDK 2.13.4 (GPL-3.0): https://github.com/Freemius/wordpress-sdk/tree/2.13.4.

Flavors Media OS's own scripts and styles ship unminified in
assets/
.

Install Flavors Media OS from Plugins > Add New, or upload the ZIP through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

Activate Flavors Media OS.

Follow the short setup wizard.

Run the first Media Health scan from the Flavors Media OS dashboard.

Review Settings before turning on automatic resize or optimization of new uploads.

Do I need an account or image credits to optimize images?

No. Image optimization runs on your own WordPress server using its available image editor.
