A referral link, a ledger you\ncan explain, and a page in My Account.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>A commission is decided once, when the order is placed, and frozen onto it.<\/strong>\nThe affiliate and the rate are written at that moment and never worked out\nagain. A plugin that recomputes later has you lowering your rate and silently\nshrinking every pending payout in the shop \u2014 including for sales made under the\nold terms.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Only the goods count, and only a paid order earns.<\/strong> Commission is worked out\non the line items, net of refunds \u2014 not on shipping and not on tax, because\npaying a share of the VAT is paying the tax authority's money to an affiliate.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>One order is one commission \u2014 in the schema.<\/strong> <code>UNIQUE (order_id)<\/code> is not an\noptimisation; it is the guarantee. WooCommerce fires its status hooks more than\nonce in ordinary operation, and a check-then-insert in PHP loses that race.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>An affiliate is never paid for their own order.<\/strong> Checked two ways \u2014 the\naccount that placed it, and the billing address on it.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Also<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>An affiliate's own dashboard on the Affiliate tab of My Account: their link,\ntheir visits and their figures \u2014 and nobody else's<\/li>\n<li>A commission is <strong>reversed<\/strong>, never deleted, when an order is refunded<\/li>\n<li>Applications approved by a human, from one screen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>What it deliberately does not do<\/h4>\n\n<p><strong>It does not move money.<\/strong> This plugin has no gateway, cannot send anybody\nanything, and never asks for a credential that could.<\/p>\n\n<h4>The full edition<\/h4>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gatemi.com\/plugins\/affiliates-for-woocommerce\/\">Gatemi Affiliates for WooCommerce<\/a>\nis a separate plugin, sold on gatemi.com, that adds a rate for one person,\nrecorded payouts, a referral window of the length you set, and a link to\nyour programme terms on the application form. This plugin remembers a\nreferral for 30 days, credits the first referral, and pays everybody the one\nprogramme rate.<\/p>\n\n<p>Both editions store their data the same way \u2014 the same tables, the same\noption, the same cookie and meta keys \u2014 so upgrading keeps every affiliate,\nevery link already handed out and every commission earned.<\/p>\n\n<h3>External services<\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>None.<\/strong> This plugin makes no HTTP request of any kind.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20to%20commissions%20if%20i%20uninstall%3F\"><h3>What happens to commissions if I uninstall?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>They stay.
