Plain CSS and JavaScript.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Google-compliant.<\/strong> Displays author names, avatars, and links back to Google Maps as required by the Google Places API attribution guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>External services<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin connects to the Google Places API to retrieve business ratings and customer reviews.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What is sent:<\/strong> Your Google Places API key (as an authorization header), the Place ID you configure in the settings, and the field mask requesting ratings and reviews.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>When it is sent:<\/strong> Only when the plugin needs to fetch or refresh reviews. Responses are cached in WordPress transients for 1 hour by default, so the API is not called on every page load.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Who receives it:<\/strong> Google LLC. Requests are made server-side from your WordPress installation. Google offers a free tier.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"how%20do%20i%20find%20my%20place%20id%3F\"><h3>How do I find my Place ID?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Use Google's Place ID Finder tool. Paste the Place ID into the PlaceCore Reviews settings page.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20my%20api%20key%20be%20visible%20to%20visitors%3F\"><h3>Will my API key be visible to visitors?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. All API requests are made server-side using the WordPress HTTP API. Your API key is stored in the WordPress options table and is never sent to the browser.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"how%20long%20are%20reviews%20cached%3F\"><h3>How long are reviews cached?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>By default, reviews are cached for 1 hour (3600 seconds). You can change this in the settings page, from 60 seconds up to 1 week.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"how%20many%20reviews%20can%20i%20display%3F\"><h3>How many reviews can I display?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Google returns a maximum of 5 reviews per Place ID. This is a Google API limit, not a plugin limitation.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20if%20google%20is%20unreachable%3F\"><h3>What happens if Google is unreachable?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Visitors see nothing.
