This plugin connects your WooCommerce, LearnDash, Tutor LMS, or MemberPress site to your Open CPD account, so a certificate is generated and emailed to the trainee automatically the moment they complete a course, order, or membership. No coding required.

You will need a free Open CPD account and an API key. Sign up at https://open-cpd.com.

What it does

Detects which supported systems are installed and lists them on its settings page, where each can be switched on or off.

Adds an "Open CPD Course ID" field to your WooCommerce products, LearnDash courses, and MemberPress memberships. Tutor LMS courses get their Course IDs on a dedicated Open CPD > Tutor LMS Courses page, listing every course on the site.

When a customer completes the matching order, course, or membership, the plugin sends their name, email address, and completion date to the Open CPD API.

Open CPD generates a certificate (and badge, if enabled on your account) and emails it directly to the trainee. The certificate itself is not returned to WordPress -- the trainee receives it by email, with a public verification link.

Every submission is recorded in a log (Open CPD > Certificate Log in your admin menu) so you can check what was sent and whether it was accepted.

Third-party service

This plugin connects to the Open CPD API (app.open-cpd.com) to submit trainee names, email addresses, and completion dates, and to receive a batch confirmation in return. Data is only sent for a course, product, or membership you have explicitly given an Open CPD Course ID. See Open CPD's terms and privacy policy at https://open-cpd.com.

Upload the plugin files to the
/wp-content/plugins/open-cpd-certificates
directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress Plugins screen.

Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.

Go to Open CPD in the admin menu and enter your API key (from the API Keys page in your Open CPD account).

Open a WooCommerce product, LearnDash course, or MemberPress membership for editing and fill in its Open CPD Course ID. For Tutor LMS, go to Open CPD > Tutor LMS Courses and enter a Course ID against each course.

Do I need an Open CPD account?

Yes.
