You can search by:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>the letter itself, or a plain one: <code>e<\/code> finds \u00e9 \u00e8 \u00ea \u00eb \u0113 \u0115 \u0117 \u0119 \u011b<\/li>\n<li>its name: <code>e acute<\/code>, <code>o slash<\/code>, <code>c cedilla<\/code><\/li>\n<li>the accent in plain words: <code>two dots<\/code> finds every diaeresis, <code>little hook<\/code> finds the ogoneks<\/li>\n<li>the language: <code>Polish<\/code>, <code>Vietnamese<\/code>, <code>Turkish<\/code> \u2014 or use the one-click language filters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>What it does not do<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>It does not add markup to your posts. The character is inserted as text, and nothing else changes.<\/li>\n<li>It does not phone home. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no tracking, no account and no\nupsell.<\/li>\n<li>It does not slow the editor down. The letter data is a separate file that is only fetched the\nfirst time you open the picker, so the editor loads at its normal speed for everyone who never\nuses it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Formatting is preserved: insert an accent in the middle of a bold or linked word and it stays part\nof that word instead of breaking the formatting in two.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Source code and build process<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin ships its complete, unminified source. <code>build\/index.js<\/code> is generated from the files in\n    src\/, which are included in the plugin so the compiled asset can be read, modified and rebuilt by\nanyone.<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li><code>src\/index.js<\/code> registers the block editor format type and the toolbar button.<\/li>\n<li><code>src\/picker.js<\/code> is the letter picker UI.<\/li>\n<li><code>src\/insert.js<\/code> is the caret insertion logic.<\/li>\n<li><code>src\/index.css<\/code> is the picker stylesheet.<\/li>\n<li><code>data\/letters.json<\/code> is the letter data, generated from the Unicode Character Database and CLDR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>To rebuild from source, from the plugin directory:<\/p>\n\n<pre><code>npm install\nnpm run build\n<\/code><\/pre>\n\n<p>That runs <code>wp-scripts build<\/code> (from the official @wordpress\/scripts package), which compiles <code>src\/<\/code>\ninto <code>build\/<\/code>.
