This plugin is the other half of the Shopvane<\/a>\ntheme. It exists as a separate plugin on purpose: WordPress.org does not allow a\ntheme to ship a demo importer, page-builder widgets, or its own admin menu, and\nthose are exactly the things a shop owner wants. Keeping them here also means\nyour starter-site content and your settings survive if you ever switch theme.<\/p>\n\n

The theme works completely without this plugin. This adds:<\/p>\n\n

A control panel<\/h4>\n\n

One top-level Shopvane<\/strong> menu with the settings people change often: brand\ncolours and fonts, header layout, product card style, the Order now button, and\nthe wording of every shop button.<\/p>\n\n

Every control writes the same theme setting the Customizer writes, so the two\ncan never disagree. The Customizer stays the place to judge a change with a live\npreview; this is the place to change six things quickly.<\/p>\n\n

Three starter sites<\/h4>\n\n

A book shop, a fashion boutique and a general store. Each imports a complete\nsite in one click: colours, homepage layout, pages with real copy, menus, footer\nwidgets, blog posts, product categories and twelve products with images.<\/p>\n\n

Nothing is downloaded. Every file ships inside the plugin, so an import works on\na site with no outbound network access, and cannot break because a server\nsomewhere was retired.<\/p>\n\n

An import only ever adds<\/strong>. A page, post or product that already exists is\nleft exactly as it is, and a menu you have already assigned is never touched.<\/p>\n\n

Inline checkout, with Quickout<\/h4>\n\n

With Quickout<\/a> installed, Shopvane can\nput a real checkout form directly on a product page, so a shopper can order\nwithout ever seeing a cart. That is how most cash-on-delivery shops sell.\nQuickout renders and validates the form; this plugin places it and styles it to\nmatch the theme.<\/p>\n\n

Each starter site also arrives with a complete Quickout funnel already built -\na landing page carrying the buy box and the order form together, and the thank\nyou page it redirects to, attached to two of the demo products. It is the part\nof Quickout that is hardest to picture from a settings screen, so the starter\nsite ships one rather than describing it. Sites without Quickout skip this and\nimport everything else.<\/p>\n\n

Two Elementor widgets<\/h4>\n\n

A product row and category tiles, both rendering through the theme's own\ntemplates - so a product card placed in Elementor is identical to one on the\nshop page, and changing the card style changes both.<\/p>\n\n

Bundled images, all of which are copied into your media library on import:<\/p>\n\n

  • Product images and the hero compositions built from them are original artwork\ndrawn for these demos by SaifBrand, licensed GPLv2 or later along with this\nplugin.<\/li>\n
  • One hero photograph (demos\/fashion\/images\/hero.jpg) is a CC0 1.0 public\ndomain dedication, which requires no attribution. Its title and source are\nlisted in demos\/CREDITS.txt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    No other third-party code, fonts or assets are bundled.<\/p>\n\n\n

    This plugin extends the free Shopvane<\/strong> theme, so install the theme first. It\ntakes about two minutes from a brand new site.<\/p>\n\n

    1. Install the theme.<\/strong> Appearance > Themes > Add New Theme, search for\nShopvane<\/strong>, then Install and Activate. (The theme is free in the\nWordPress.org directory: https:\/\/wordpress.org\/themes\/shopvane\/)<\/li>\n
    2. Install this plugin.<\/strong> Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for\nShopvane Companion<\/strong>, then Install and Activate.<\/li>\n
    3. A Shopvane<\/strong> menu appears in the admin sidebar, and you land on it\nautomatically after activation.<\/li>\n
    4. Open Shopvane > Starter sites<\/strong> and click Import<\/strong> on any of the three\nsites. Give it up to a minute; the images are copied into your media\nlibrary. Then visit the front page to see the finished shop.<\/li>\n
    5. Change anything you like under Shopvane > Brand colours<\/strong>,\nHeader & layout<\/strong> and Shop & buttons<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

      Activating this plugin before the theme is perfectly safe: it changes nothing,\nand the Shopvane menu then shows a short setup screen with a button that\ninstalls the theme for you.<\/p>\n\n

        How do I see this plugin actually do something?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        Activate the Shopvane theme, then open Shopvane > Starter sites<\/strong> and import\none. With WooCommerce active you get a complete shop - homepage, menus, pages,\nblog posts and twelve products with images - in a single click, and every\nShopvane menu tab then changes that shop live.<\/p><\/dd>\n

        I activated the plugin and nothing happened.<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        The Shopvane theme is not active. Open the Shopvane<\/strong> menu in the sidebar: it\nshows the setup screen, with a button that installs and activates the theme.\nThis plugin deliberately does nothing while another theme is running, so it can\nnever interfere with the theme you are using.<\/p><\/dd>\n

        Do I need this plugin?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        No. Shopvane is a complete theme on its own. Add this when you want the control\npanel, a starter site, or the Elementor widgets.<\/p><\/dd>\n

        Will importing a starter site delete my products or pages?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        No. The importer only creates things that do not already exist, and it never\ntouches a menu you have assigned. You can untick \"Include the demo products\" if\nyou only want the design and the pages.<\/p><\/dd>\n

        The import is taking a long time.<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        Every image is copied into your media library, which is real work on shared\nhosting. A full import with products takes up to a minute. Let it finish.<\/p><\/dd>\n

        Can I delete the demo products afterwards?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        Yes. They are ordinary WooCommerce products and ordinary media library images.<\/p><\/dd>\n

        Where did my Shop page go?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

        If WooCommerce's Shop, Cart or Checkout page was ever deleted, WooCommerce keeps\npointing at the old page id, which can silently start resolving to an unrelated\npage. The importer checks those four pages and rebuilds any that are wrong\nbefore it does anything else.<\/p><\/dd>\n\n<\/dl>\n\n\n
