Data with each question: the question and up to 20 recent chat messages; the site address and any Freemius installation ID or support token, to authorise the request; this plugin's version, the core library version, the versions of other active plugins whose folders begin \"ap-\" or \"ancp-\", the admin screen, the database schema revision, whether AI features are present and configured, and counts of artefacts, questions, log entries and tasks - never their contents. The free plan answers a limited number of questions a month. With Pro and your own AI provider, questions go to that provider instead and the service is asked only for documentation, unless the local answer fails.<\/p>\n\n
Tickets: with a licence or support token, only when you open the ticket form and click \"Create ticket\" does the plugin also send the conversation, the details above, the question category, the contact email you enter (pre-filled with your WordPress account email) and the first and last name from your WordPress profile; these are kept as a support ticket. On the free plan no ticket form is offered, so none of this is sent, and help from a person is on the WordPress.org support forum.<\/p>\n\n
Retention: questions are not stored, and the conversation stays in your browser until you leave the page. Authorisation checks are cached for up to 12 hours; rate-limit and free-plan counters are kept against a hash of your host name (monthly counts for about 40 days); daily usage counters with no site identifier are kept for up to 180 days. Please avoid pasting transcriptions or details of living relatives into a question.<\/p>\n\n

Will it change my data?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. Transcriptions are stored as typed, imports only add artefacts, and promoted dates are written as you entered them.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Is the free version limited?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. There is no cap, trial or time limit, and export always includes everything. One spreadsheet import can hold up to 20,000 rows.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Does it need AP Family Trees?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. Only linking artefacts to people and promoting conclusions need a family tree in the shared AncestorPress data.<\/p><\/dd>\n
Does the Help assistant see my research?<\/h3><\/dt>\nNo. The Help button is optional and sends nothing until the site is connected and an administrator accepts its privacy notice.
