PostPresenter includes five original transparent animations: a heart, arrow, sparkles, birthday balloon, and celebration. They work without registration or an external connection.

Use the PostPresenter Animation block or paste a shortcode.

Copy shortcodes from Settings → PostPresenter or the post editor helper.

Place multiple animations in posts, pages, and shortcode-enabled widgets.

Choose small, medium or large sizes, alignment, loop or one-shot playback.

Visitor playback controls and reduced-motion preference support.

No automatic animations on every post, no visitor-facing upgrade notices.

Optional hosted catalog

PostPresenter Animation Library is an optional $25/year subscription to the hosted animation library of 200+ animations. It provides remote catalog and media delivery; it does not unlock hidden local plugin code. The plugin, all customization tools, unlimited placements and five included animations remain free. The subscription supplies hosted media access on one site while active. Subscription and site-activation terms are provided at https://postpresenter.com/.

The site administrator must explicitly connect a subscription before service requests begin. Connecting sends the subscription key, site URL, plugin slug and version to https://postpresenter.com/wp-json/postpresenter/v1/ for activation, status checks, deactivation and catalog retrieval. Status and catalog checks run twice daily through WP-Cron and when manually requested. Site traffic affects when WP-Cron runs. The plugin sends no post content and includes no analytics.

Selected hosted media loads from postpresenter.com or cdn.postpresenter.com in the browser. These hosts receive the visitor's IP address and normal browser request information. Free bundled media is served from the site's own plugin directory. Review the service terms and privacy policy at https://postpresenter.com/ before connecting. Suggested privacy text is available in WordPress's Privacy Policy Guide.

After disconnection or subscription expiry, paid animations are omitted on newly rendered pages. Free animations continue working. Existing page caches and already delivered files may persist; purge page caches after changing subscription state. Cached paid catalog entries have a bounded lifetime. Temporary service failures can retain a previously verified, unexpired entitlement for up to 72 hours, but media availability also depends on catalog expiry and the server.

Credits

Bundled motion graphics are original PostPresenter assets released under GPL-2.0-or-later. Development-only artwork generation tools are maintained separately from the installable plugin. All shipped JavaScript is unminified and editable; no build is required for JS changes. Python 3 and Pillow are needed only to regenerate the bundled media.

Install and activate PostPresenter.

Open Settings → PostPresenter to choose and copy an animation shortcode.

Paste it into a Shortcode block, a Classic Editor paragraph, or a builder's shortcode widget. Alternatively insert a PostPresenter Animation block.

Optionally purchase a subscription and connect it in settings.

Visual shortcode builder

Open PostPresenter in the admin sidebar, or the PostPresenter box below the post editor. Choose an animation, adjust options and copy the generated shortcode. Paste into a Shortcode block, Classic Editor paragraph or builder shortcode widget. Screen placements float over the viewport; the default renders at the pasted location. background="transparent" is the default; background="#ffffff" adds an actual white background to that animation. Preview page color only helps test transparency.

What is the simplest shortcode?

[postpresenter id="heart"]

Can I choose size and alignment?

[postpresenter id="balloon" size="large" align="center" playback="once"]

IDs bundled in this plugin: heart, arrow, sparkles, balloon, celebrate.
Sizes: small, medium, large. Alignments: none (inline), left, center, right.
Playback: loop, once. Mobile: show, hide, shrink.
Use label="Your description" for meaningful animation; omit label for decorative animation.

Does it float over the page?

By default it renders at the shortcode location. Advanced users can explicitly set placement="bottom-right", "bottom-left", "top-right", "top-left", or "center" for a fixed overlay. Avoid multiple fixed overlays in the same corner. timing="on-load", "after-5s", "after-10s" or "after-scroll-50%" controls initial playback.

What if visitors disable JavaScript or prefer reduced motion?

They see the static poster. With JavaScript, reduced-motion users can choose Play. Animated images restart when resumed. One-shot animated images return to the poster after their declared duration. Video autoplay may be blocked by browser policy; Play allows manual retry. Transparent video support depends on browser and codec; use animated WebP for the broadest image-based delivery.

Does plain green-screen MP4 work?

No automatic chroma-key processing is done on visitor devices. Prepare real transparent animated WebP or alpha WebM before adding media to the hosted catalog. The plugin never invents an MP4 fallback that would show an opaque background. Use static PNG posters, or static WebP/JPEG where appropriate; poster files must not be animated.

How are updates delivered?

This WordPress.org edition uses WordPress.org updates after directory approval and release publication. The site administrator controls update installation and auto-updates using standard WordPress controls. Subscription status does not restrict code updates.

What changes when upgrading from 1.0.x?

Existing shortcodes now render inline unless placement is explicitly set. Only posts with an explicitly saved enabled legacy overlay retain automatic overlays; old behavior that implicitly added animations to all posts is discontinued. Original metadata is retained. Old walk-in-left, point-top and point-bottom IDs require corresponding entries from the hosted catalog. Replace them with bundled IDs where needed. An old saved key is retained but must be explicitly reconnected. No keys are sent automatically during migration.

What happens on deletion?

Deactivation cancels scheduled checks and retains configuration. Deleting the plugin removes data only if the administrator enabled the removal setting. Content and shortcodes are never rewritten. Disconnect first to release the remote activation. Shortcode text may remain visible if the plugin is inactive or deleted.

1.2.4

Moved plugin administration under Settings → PostPresenter.

Updated dashboard, plugin-list and form-return links; old top-level bookmarks redirect to Settings.

Removed development-only Python tooling from installable packages.

1.2.3

Renamed the paid offering to PostPresenter Animation Library — $25/year.

Clarified that all plugin tools, five bundled animations and unlimited placements are free.

Updated dashboard, subscription controls and plugin-list links to describe paid hosted media access.

1.2.2

Preserved the languages folder in release ZIPs to resolve the Domain Path warning.

Moved the main PostPresenter menu near Posts and removed its duplicate Settings submenu.

Added on-demand Play preview buttons in the library; only one card plays at a time.

Added a dashboard quick-start widget with plan-aware Unlimited upgrade content.

Preserved old settings bookmarks with a safe redirect.

Added a pinnable PostPresenter shortcode builder in the block editor right sidebar and a right-side Classic Editor box.

1.2.1

Fixed gallery thumbnail proportions with consistent contain-fit transparency frames.

Isolated thumbnail and preview styling against conflicting admin image rules.

Added Preview & customize buttons to load a gallery animation into the builder.

1.2.0

Added a live visual shortcode builder in the PostPresenter menu and post/page editor.

Added position, size, playback, timing, mobile and background controls with copyable shortcodes.

Added transparent or solid animation backgrounds; separate preview page color is preview-only.

1.1.0

Added five bundled original transparent animations, block picker and copy-shortcode UI.

Changed default shortcode placement to inline and removed implicit site-wide injection.

Added consent-based subscription catalog integration, bounded caches and expiry handling.

Added accessible playback controls, static posters and reduced-motion support.

Fixed legacy disable persistence and removed guessed media fallback URLs.

Added privacy disclosures, GPL licensing and optional uninstall cleanup.

Separated WordPress.org and direct-download update distributions.

1.0.0

Original presenter overlay plugin.

Place transparent animations in your content with a block or shortcode.
