Often they don't: the section is hidden, a security plugin switched it off, or the host strips the <code>Authorization<\/code> header. This plugin sidesteps all of that, and does a few things a username and password cannot:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>One token, revocable in a click.<\/strong> Created in <strong>Settings \u2192 YoDon<\/strong>, shown once, stored only as a SHA-256 hash. Consultants and agencies running a schedule per client site, everything held as drafts for review.<\/p>\n\n<h4>How this plugin works with YoDon (third-party service)<\/h4>\n\n<p>This plugin only <em>answers<\/em> requests. It does not send anything to YoDon on its own, has no scheduled jobs, and makes no outbound requests. It does nothing at all until a request arrives carrying the token you created.<\/p>\n\n<p>When YoDon does connect, it reads your categories, your recent post titles and links, and your theme's design tokens, and it writes the articles and images you asked it to publish. That exchange is governed by YoDon's <a href=\"https:\/\/yodon.com\/terms\">Terms of Service<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/yodon.com\/privacy\">Privacy Policy<\/a>. Deleting the plugin, or regenerating the token, ends the connection immediately.<\/p>\n\n<p>A YoDon account is required for the plugin to do anything. Without one, the plugin sits idle.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Security<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Only a hash of the token is stored, and tokens are compared in constant time.<\/li>\n<li>A request without a valid token is treated exactly as it would be without the plugin installed.<\/li>\n<li>The token works only on the routes listed below, never on the rest of your site.<\/li>\n<li>The plugin never makes outbound requests and has no scheduled jobs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>For developers<\/h4>\n\n<p>The plugin adds a small set of REST endpoints under <code>autopress\/v1<\/code>:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li><code>GET \/ping<\/code> \u2014 connection check: publishing user, WordPress version, detected SEO plugin, upload limit and what the connection may do.<\/li>\n<li><code>GET \/theme<\/code> \u2014 the site's colours, fonts and content width from the active theme and Site Editor.<\/li>\n<li><code>POST \/media<\/code> \u2014 upload a JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP or AVIF image into the media library.<\/li>\n<li><code>POST \/post<\/code> \u2014 create a post (draft, pending, scheduled, private or published), or update one it already created.<\/li>\n<li><code>GET<\/code> \/ <code>POST \/categories<\/code> \u2014 list categories; create one, or return the matching one if it already exists.<\/li>\n<li><code>GET \/posts<\/code> \u2014 a compact list of recent published posts, used for internal linking.<\/li>\n<li><code>POST \/seo<\/code> \u2014 write the SEO title, meta description and focus keyword into Yoast SEO or Rank Math.<\/li>\n<li><code>POST \/translations<\/code> \u2014 link posts as translations of one another on sites running Polylang.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The token is also accepted on the standard WordPress endpoints for posts, media, categories, tags and <code>users\/me<\/code>. No other route on your site is affected.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Install the plugin from <strong>Plugins \u2192 Add New<\/strong> (search for \"YoDon Connector\"), or upload the ZIP file, then activate it.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Settings \u2192 YoDon<\/strong>. The plugin is the WordPress half of the connection; the researching, writing and scheduling happen in YoDon. On its own the plugin sits idle and does nothing. Starting is free and takes no card.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20the%20articles%20read%20like%20ai%20slop%3F\"><h3>Will the articles read like AI slop?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>That is the thing worth being fussy about. Every article is written from research it actually fetched \u2014 the sources are listed in the post and re-checked at publish time \u2014 rather than from a model's memory. It arrives as structured blocks: tables where there is a choice to make, steps where there is a process, a real FAQ, a takeaways box. Judge it on the output: publish in <strong>draft<\/strong> mode first and read a couple before you let anything go live.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"is%20ai-written%20content%20against%20google%27s%20rules%3F\"><h3>Is AI-written content against Google's rules?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Google's guidance is about whether content is helpful and original, not about how it was produced. What gets penalised is mass-produced pages made only to game search. Which is exactly why YoDon researches before it writes, cites what it used, skips topics you have already covered, and lets you hold everything for review. You are still the publisher \u2014 read what goes out.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"do%20i%20have%20to%20let%20it%20publish%20automatically%3F\"><h3>Do I have to let it publish automatically?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Three modes: publish live on schedule, land in your WordPress Drafts for approval, or hold in YoDon until you send it. Switch whenever you like.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20i%20edit%20an%20article%20after%20it%20publishes%3F\"><h3>Can I edit an article after it publishes?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. It is an ordinary WordPress post. Edit, delete, re-categorise, change the featured image \u2014 exactly as you would with something you wrote.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20the%20posts%20match%20my%20theme%3F\"><h3>Will the posts match my theme?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>The connector hands YoDon your palette, fonts and content width from the active theme and Site Editor, and the article blocks are painted from those. That is what the <code>GET \/theme<\/code> endpoint is for.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20permissions%20does%20the%20plugin%20need%3F\"><h3>What permissions does the plugin need?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>The plugin acts as the user selected under <strong>Publish as<\/strong>. That user needs to be able to publish posts, upload files and manage categories; any administrator, and usually any editor, already can. The connection can never do more than that user is allowed to, and it only applies to posts, media, categories, tags and the current-user endpoint.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20i%20limit%20what%20the%20connection%20can%20do%3F\"><h3>Can I limit what the connection can do?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes \u2014 point <strong>Publish as<\/strong> at a user with a narrower role. An Author can create and publish their own posts and upload images but cannot create categories, so category creation will be refused while everything else keeps working.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"how%20do%20i%20rotate%20the%20token%3F\"><h3>How do I rotate the token?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p><strong>Settings \u2192 YoDon \u2192 Regenerate.<\/strong> The previous token stops working immediately and the new one is shown once. Paste it into YoDon to reconnect. Rotate it if you think it has been exposed, or when someone who had access to it leaves.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"i%20lost%20the%20token.%20can%20i%20look%20it%20up%3F\"><h3>I lost the token. Can I look it up?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Only a hash of it is stored, so it cannot be recovered \u2014 generate a new one instead. The settings page shows the last four characters so you can tell which token a site is using.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20data%20leaves%20my%20site%3F\"><h3>What data leaves my site?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Nothing leaves on its own. The plugin has no scheduled jobs and makes no outbound requests. It only answers requests that arrive with a valid token, and it answers with exactly what was asked for: the connection status, your categories, recent post titles and links, your theme's design tokens, and the IDs and URLs of content it just created.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"which%20seo%20plugins%20are%20supported%3F\"><h3>Which SEO plugins are supported?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yoast SEO and Rank Math are written to directly. If neither is active, the SEO title, description and focus keyword are stored as post meta (<code>_autopress_seo_title<\/code>, <code>_autopress_seo_desc<\/code>, <code>_autopress_seo_keyword<\/code>) so a theme or another plugin can pick them up.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"connections%20fail%20with%20%22missing%20connection%20token%22%20even%20though%20a%20token%20is%20set\"><h3>Connections fail with \"Missing connection token\" even though a token is set<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Some servers strip the <code>Authorization<\/code> header before PHP sees it. YoDon also sends the token in an <code>X-AutoPress-Token<\/code> header, which is not affected, so this is rare.
