While the window is open the order sits in a dedicated \"Hold for Editing\" status so fulfillment automation knows not to touch it, and the customer gets a simple form where they can:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Correct their shipping address<\/li>\n<li>Correct their billing address (the billing email stays locked)<\/li>\n<li>Update the customer-provided order note<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>When the window closes, or the customer confirms early, the order releases back to processing automatically and normal fulfillment continues.<\/p>\n\n<h4>How it works<\/h4>\n\n<ol>\n<li>An eligible order moves to \"Hold for Editing\" after checkout.<\/li>\n<li>The thank-you page (and My Account) shows a countdown with an edit button.<\/li>\n<li>Guest customers get a secure, single-order magic link - no account needed.<\/li>\n<li>Every change is logged as an order note and admins can be notified by email.<\/li>\n<li>The order releases itself when the timer ends or the customer clicks confirm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h4>Built for reliability<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)<\/li>\n<li>Compatible with Checkout Blocks<\/li>\n<li>Releases run through Action Scheduler with a WP-Cron fallback plus an init-time safety sweep, so held orders never get stuck<\/li>\n<li>Editing access is protected by per-order tokens and nonces, and re-validated server-side on every request<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>Privacy<\/h4>\n\n<p>This plugin does not connect to any external service and does not send data anywhere. All edits happen on your own site.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Install and activate WooCommerce.<\/li>\n<li>Upload the plugin files to <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/ordermender<\/code>, or install through the WordPress plugins screen.<\/li>\n<li>Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' screen.<\/li>\n<li>Configure the window under WooCommerce &gt; Settings &gt; Order Editing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"which%20orders%20get%20held%3F\"><h3>Which orders get held?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>By default every order that transitions into Processing enters the window once. Enable \"Require completed payment\" if you only want paid orders held (useful with pay-on-delivery methods).<\/p>\n\n<p>Digital-only orders that complete instantly are never affected.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20when%20the%20window%20ends%3F\"><h3>What happens when the window ends?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>The order returns to Processing automatically and receives an order note. Nothing else about the order changes.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20customers%20change%20items%2C%20quantities%2C%20or%20prices%3F\"><h3>Can customers change items, quantities, or prices?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Not in this version.
