It is required for the plugin to\nwork.<\/p>\n\n<p>Requests used:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Places API Text Search \u2014 to find your business by name during setup.<\/li>\n<li>Places API Place Details \u2014 to read the rating, review count and latest reviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>When data is transmitted:<\/strong> only during setup (business search) and during\nscheduled or manual synchronization on the server. The public frontend never\ncontacts Google.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What is sent:<\/strong> your API key and place\/search requests to Google. You can never edit a review, rewrite it, or filter reviews by rating.<\/p>\n\n<p>The one place where you choose a single review is the Quote Spotlight layout,\nwhich by design puts one review on stage \u2014 there you decide whether that is the\nbest, the newest, the longest, or a specific position. Every layout that shows\nseveral reviews always shows them in Google's own order, newest first.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"which%20review%20does%20the%20quote%20spotlight%20show%3F\"><h3>Which review does the Quote Spotlight show?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>By default the most convincing one: the longest text among the highest-rated\nreviews. In the block you can switch this to the newest review, the longest, or\na fixed position. Google rotates which reviews its API returns, so if a chosen\nposition no longer exists the layout falls back to the best review instead of\nrendering nothing.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20slow%20down%20my%20site%3F\"><h3>Does it slow down my site?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. The frontend only reads a small local cache. Choose the \"Inline Text\" layout \u2014 it renders \"4.9 \u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605 80 reviews\" as\nplain text with star characters, so you can drop it into a sentence, a heading\nor a hero section. Use <code>[rdgfg_rating_display layout=\"inline\"]<\/code> or pick Inline\nText in the block.
