StockNotify adds a \"Notify me when this product is back in stock\" form to WooCommerce product pages whenever a product, or a selected variation, is out of stock.<\/p>\n\n

Core flow<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

  1. A product (or variation) goes out of stock.<\/li>\n
  2. A customer enters their email address on the product page.<\/li>\n
  3. The product comes back in stock.<\/li>\n
  4. The customer receives an email notification.<\/li>\n
  5. Store owners can track who subscribed and who was notified. (planned for a future release)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    This release (1.0.0) includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

    • A back-in-stock subscription form on the single product page.<\/li>\n
    • Support for simple products.<\/li>\n
    • Support for variable products, with the form appearing automatically for the selected out-of-stock variation.<\/li>\n
    • AJAX submission with no page reload.<\/li>\n
    • Duplicate-subscription protection.<\/li>\n
    • Automatic \"back in stock\" email sent to every pending subscriber as soon as a product or variation returns to stock.<\/li>\n
    • The notification email is a standard WooCommerce email, editable under WooCommerce > Settings > Emails (subject, heading, extra text, HTML\/plain format) and themeable by copying its template into yourtheme\/stocknotify\/<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

      Requirements<\/h4>\n\n

      • WooCommerce must be installed and active. StockNotify will show an admin notice if it is not.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

        1. Upload the stocknotify<\/code> folder to \/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code>, or install the zip via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.<\/li>\n
        2. Activate the plugin through the \"Plugins\" screen in WordPress.<\/li>\n
        3. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.<\/li>\n
        4. Visit any out-of-stock product to see the subscription form.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

          Does this work with variable products?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

          Yes. When a shopper selects a variation that is out of stock, the subscription form appears automatically for that specific variation. If a different, in-stock variation is selected, the form is hidden again.<\/p><\/dd>\n

          Does this plugin send the \"back in stock\" email yet?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

          Yes. As soon as WooCommerce marks a product or variation as back in stock, every subscriber who is still waiting for it is emailed automatically. Sending happens a short time after the stock change (via WP-Cron) so that saving a product or processing an order is never slowed down by the outgoing emails. Each subscriber is only notified once per subscription.<\/p><\/dd>\n

          Can I customize the notification email?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

          Yes. It's a normal WooCommerce email, so it appears under WooCommerce > Settings > Emails, where you can change the subject, heading, additional text, and switch between HTML and plain text. To change the layout itself, copy templates\/email\/back-in-stock.php<\/code> (and, for plain text, templates\/email\/plain\/back-in-stock.php<\/code>) from the plugin into yourtheme\/stocknotify\/email\/<\/code>.<\/p><\/dd>\n

          Where are subscriptions stored?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

          In a dedicated database table ({prefix}stocknotify_subscribers<\/code>) created on activation, separate from WooCommerce's own tables. An admin screen to browse subscribers is planned for a future release.<\/p><\/dd>\n\n<\/dl>\n\n\n
