Connect your Appilix App Key and API Key, turn on the order statuses you want to notify customers about, and Appushy handles the rest: identifying which customer to notify, sending the push, and logging what happened \u2014 automatically, every time an order changes status.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What Appushy does<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Connects to your Appilix app with your App Key and API Key, and validates them before you rely on them.<\/li>\n<li>Sends a native push notification when a WooCommerce order reaches a status you've turned on \u2014 Processing, Completed, On Hold, Refunded, and more.<\/li>\n<li>Sends a native push notification automatically when a student enrols in a Tutor LMS course \u2014 free, no Pro license needed.<\/li>\n<li>Sends a native push notification automatically when someone gets a new direct message via Better Messages \u2014 free, no Pro license needed.<\/li>\n<li>Identifies customers automatically, including guest checkouts, so pushes reach the right device without the customer doing anything extra beyond opening the app once.<\/li>\n<li>Every trigger's notification lives on one screen \u2014 Appushy \u2192 Push Automation \u2014 where you can see, and toggle, exactly what gets sent and when.<\/li>\n<li>Logs every send attempt (last 100, with automatic pruning after however many days you choose) so you can see what was actually sent, and why a customer who hasn't opened the app yet didn't receive anything.<\/li>\n<li>Retries automatically for a few minutes when a customer's device isn't registered with Appilix <em>yet<\/em> \u2014 a common, expected timing gap right after checkout, not a failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>What Appushy needs from you first<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Appilix's Push Notification module requires Firebase to be connected on the Appilix side before any of this works \u2014 that's an Appilix-side setup step, not something Appushy can do for you. See \"Before you start\" in the plugin's own documentation, linked from the Settings screen, for the full checklist (Firebase project, Cloud Messaging enabled, app rebuilt and reinstalled with the new configuration baked in).<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Honest limitations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Push notifications reach app installs only \u2014 not browser visitors. That's a different technology (browser push), not something this plugin does.<\/li>\n<li>A customer must have opened your app and been identified at least once before a targeted push can reach their device. Appushy handles the identification automatically once that's happened.<\/li>\n<li>Delivery depends on Appilix and Firebase Cloud Messaging. Appushy logs that it successfully handed a notification to Appilix's API \u2014 not that a specific device actually displayed it.<\/li>\n<li>The Push Notification API is a paid Appilix module, not available on Appilix's free trial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This plugin bundles the Plus Jakarta Sans, Instrument Serif, and JetBrains Mono typefaces (SIL Open Font License 1.1) for its setup wizard \u2014 see assets\/fonts\/OFL.txt.<\/p>\n\n<h3>External Services<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin connects to the <strong>Appilix<\/strong> push notification service (https:\/\/appilix.com) to send native app push notifications. This is required for the plugin's core functionality \u2014 without it, no notification can be sent.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What is sent, and when:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Your Appilix <strong>App Key<\/strong> and <strong>API Key<\/strong> (entered by you in Settings) are sent with every request, to authenticate it as coming from your app.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>customer identity<\/strong> \u2014 either the customer's email address or their WordPress user ID, depending on which you choose under Settings \u2192 Identify customers by \u2014 is sent so Appilix can target the notification to the right device. This is sent both when a customer logs in or completes checkout (to register their identity with Appilix) and with every notification (to target it).<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>notification title and message text<\/strong>, which may include the customer's first name, the order number, and the order total, substituted into the message. This is sent every time an order reaches a status you've enabled a notification for, and when you use \"Send test push.\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This data is sent directly from your WordPress server to Appilix's API (<code>https:\/\/appilix.com\/api\/push-notification<\/code> and <code>https:\/\/appilix.com\/api\/push-notification-token<\/code>) \u2014 never through any third-party server other than Appilix's own.<\/p>\n\n<p>Appilix's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern how this data is handled once received: https:\/\/appilix.com\/terms-conditions and https:\/\/appilix.com\/privacy-policy.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Upload and activate Appushy like any WordPress plugin, or install it directly from the WordPress Plugin Directory.<\/li>\n<li>Works with WooCommerce, Tutor LMS, and\/or Better Messages \u2014 activate whichever you use; Appushy detects each one automatically and never requires any of them just to install.<\/li>\n<li>You'll be taken to a short guided setup wizard automatically after activation. Paste your Appilix App Key and API Key (found in your Appilix dashboard's Push Notification API panel) when prompted, then send a test push to confirm delivery to a real device.<\/li>\n<li>Prefer to skip the wizard? The Push Notification API is a paid Appilix module and is not available on Appilix's free trial. You'll also need Firebase connected on the Appilix side \u2014 see \"Before you start\" in the plugin's documentation.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"why%20isn%27t%20a%20customer%20receiving%20notifications%3F\"><h3>Why isn't a customer receiving notifications?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Almost always because they haven't opened your app and been identified yet. Appushy's log will show \"Not delivered \u2014 Hasn't opened your app yet\" for these \u2014 this is the expected, normal outcome for a customer who hasn't used the app, not an error.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"why%20do%20automatic%20notifications%20sometimes%20arrive%20a%20minute%20or%20so%20late%3F\"><h3>Why do automatic notifications sometimes arrive a minute or so late?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>That's WordPress's own background task scheduling (Action Scheduler), not Appushy or Appilix \u2014 by default it only runs when someone visits your site, so on a quiet site a notification can wait briefly for the next page load before it's sent. For instant delivery regardless of traffic, set up a real server cron job instead of WordPress's default (<code>define( 'DISABLE_WP_CRON', true );<\/code> in <code>wp-config.php<\/code>, plus a real cron entry hitting <code>wp-cron.php<\/code> \u2014 most hosts support this, and it's the same fix WooCommerce recommends for order-processing timing). Manual sends aren't affected \u2014 those go out immediately.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20this%20work%20for%20guest%20checkouts%3F\"><h3>Does this work for guest checkouts?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes, when identifying customers by email (the default). Appushy registers the order's billing email with Appilix automatically on the order-confirmation page, whether or not the customer has an account.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20i%20customize%20the%20notification%20text%3F\"><h3>Can I customize the notification text?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Not in the free version \u2014 each order status has fixed, pre-written text with variables like the customer's name and order number filled in automatically. A template editor is planned as part of a future paid tier.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"is%20my%20appilix%20data%20safe%3F\"><h3>Is my Appilix data safe?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Your App Key and API Key are never displayed after saving (masked in the UI) and never appear in the notification log.
